I was quite impressed with David Bowers' book on $20 double eagles. I also checked out Mike Fuljens/Doug Winters' book on Type II and III double eagles. Universal Coin has quite a few books by Mr. Fuljens in tandem with other authors that are inexpensive. Does anyone have a suggestion on other books on type US gold? Also, I understand ANA members can order books in their library. How does this work?
About the best I know of is this one - http://www.amazon.com/Encyclopedia-U-S-Gold-Coins-Commemorative/dp/0794817653 As for the ANA Library, just go to the ANA web site and it will explain the process. Basically you request th ebooks and they mail them to you. Then you mail them back when you are finished.
I own this one, I like it a lot. I didn't post about it since I was not aaware if there was a better volume. I got it for about $20 a year ago. PM me Owle and I will tell you where I got it for that price if you are interested. Chris
Roger Burdette's recent book on Saint-Gaudens year-by-year is now the Bible for that particular Double Eagle series.
