37' Steel Penny??? Help

    I keep hearing it the other way. You see I like the coin however it turns out and I don't want it tossed if NGC dems it fake. Why would the mint take my coin.

    Fair enough. Please don't send it to the mint. If real there is a strong chance they will not give it back as someone posted. You need to be looking at a TPG service. They will give it back with an opinion. Wish you the best.

    If you send it to a TPG and they deem it fake, it won't get tossed, you'll get it back.

    This would be a fantastic find if authentic. Over the last few years, some members have had some incredible finds that were authentic so your's isn't beyond the realm of possibility. Keep us informed of the results.

    Well if that's the case the mint isn't coming close to this thing. I quill send it to NGC tomorrow. I will update the thread when I get the result. Thanks for the advise

    NGC would never keep it. They will send it back. The mint can do anything they wish. If they feel it left the mint in a non legal manor they will not give it back. There is a court case going on right now about different coins worth somewhere around 70 million. The legal fees between the owner and the mint must be in the millions by now.

    Read about 1933 Double Eagle! Never send a coin to the mint for authentication. Never! The Treasury Department will find a reason to keep it.
