I have a blanked out Engelhard, I am wondering if it is just a test weight or something similar. ANy ideas where I can find a serial database to ID what it is and/or what it's worth?

Not sure what you mean by blanked out ? The bar has the name - the symbol - the weight and the serial number ?

What is it you want to know ?

It dies not say what kind of metal it is, like other Engelhard bars I have seen.

I see what you mean now. To be honest - it does not look like gold that's for sure. Since I don't know much about bullion bars - hard to say what it is especially considering the serial number.

You might try writing to Engelhard and asking them.

Now THAT is weird. Please let us know what you find out. That would be a great oddity to own.
I heard of a group of gold bars with the serial numbers scratched off being offered here in town several years ago...but have never seen one like this...very interesting...

I also highly doubt it is gold, it it too poor looing for that.
My father just basically handed it to me when I was a kid. I would like to know what it is, I read that Engelhard is closed down? Is that true and if not does anyone have an address or email where I could contact them?

    Thanks for the help
