73 Penny with major reverse issues??

I know first thought is road rash or something like that. This is different. The Obv. is normal as can be and when you flip it over it looks like it is melting while you hold it. Any Ideas??

I firmly beleive it's PMD...

 

What tool is used for that. I know I am new to all this but I just don't get how a person could do that at home. I know you are most likely correct but I just don't get it. Oh well. I love the way it looks. Total crazieness all over but Lincoln is untouched in the memorial. Love it

 

Some kid probably smacked it with a hammer a few times on ONE side.

 

This is 100% Post mint damage. The mint process could not come up with that

 

50 cars could run over it and never have any effect on the obverse.

Yep, road rash. That's kinda what my little brothers leg looked like when he crashed his motor cycle. One knee looked like it was in mint condition and the other knee resembled your penny!

 

I agree, probably some kid playing with his dads tools.
