I recently picked this up at work among several other 1950 series $100's and 1 1934 series $100. The other 1950 series are in much nicer condition, some AU, others VF-XF. The 1934 is in fair condition, no hard folds or creases, just dingy. One of the 1950 series is a mule note (how much premium do these typically bring?) I am picking up 4 1934 series $50 notes this week as well, I don't quite recall the condition, but VF at minimum. The pictures aren't the greatest... There is a fold on the bottom left corner, the ink smear appears to have been from the BEP when the seal was overinked. The top of the back has some dirt/debris on the paper. No hard folds, it's just been circulated. What kind of value would this note bring? I saw the run was fairly short, but twice the size of 1950E. Also what kind of grade would fall with this note? I need help assessing note grades so others opinions helps greatly. The paper is still quite crisp. Thanks in advance! John
Here are the other notes in case you want to see them; I could also use some more help with these. non-mule 1950D mule 1950D non-mule 1950 non-mule 1934 series non-mule 1950D View attachment 129270 non-mule 1950C Would you guys mind helping me establish a value for these notes as well? I can't find any examples on eBay to compare them to, and unfortunately I do not own a book. All examples aside from the 1934 are extremely crisp.
Unfortunately i am at work and do not have my book with me for values. If you're still interested, I can look them up this afternoon/evening.
Your 1950D * would grade about VF and should retail around $180-$200. As for the other notes, I have to admit the glare is a little misleading in examining the notes, but in XF condition, they grade as follows: 50D "L"- $175 each 50-$125 each 34 "G" is in Fine+ condition- $110 Hope this helps.
Yes, that helps tons! Just so I have this straight.. The 1950 D Series $100 notes from San Francisco are $175 each The other 1950 X series $100 notes from San Fran are $125 each? and then the star and the 1934. Thanks, John
Sorry, I may have been a little misleading in my last post. The "L" 1950D star is worth $180-$200 and the other San Fran notes are worth about $175 in XF
