It's stress marks. I myself have only ever found one before. What year is that because the I can't see the last digit in the date?

That's Ironic because the one I found has the same date. And mine looks similar but with more out standing stress marks!!!

Thats interesting. They are far more obvious in hand on the OBV, but you can see them quite clearly on the REV especially just above "DIME". They also shoot up from the flame of the torch and between the s and o of united states of america.

I have found a couple others similar to this one while looking through various denominations, but I can't remember if they were dimes. I'll have to look back through when I get a chance.

If you find others post them they are a beautiful piece and wonder what one would look like in like ms 60 condition. Oh it would look so amazing!

When I first found mine I called it the heavenly dime because it looked like a light was shined upon him.

I rather like it, too. I guess I just thought the others were PMD, so I didn't set them aside. I still have them, though, and when I find them I'll post. This one, though, really caught my eye.
You should post your's, too. I'd like to see it!

Magnifying glasses help a lot, the one i just got is 14 megapixels and i still use the magnifying glasses to crisp some of them up, especially when you need a really close shot, 10x glass does a good job when the light hits it right. Also, if it's a file type problem with your pics and this site from your ipod, maybe you can convert them first on your pc with xnview (free) or something, they may even have something for your ipod.

Are you all talking about those wavy lines? Is that something worth keeping out? I'm just curious, i think i've ran across a few with waves like that and just figured they were die damage or something.

Yes, thats why I posted the coin. Not sure if there is any added value...I doubt it...but I rather like it.

What's the difference between die erosion and die stress?

Probably the same thing. I think "die stress" more of a British/European term.
