A couple of Trade Dollars added to my collection.

The Chopped one, an 1875-S I/I, has at least 16 chops that I can tell. What is cool is that otherwise it shows very little circulation wear, and has a ton of die polish marks on both sides as well as a short die crack on the reverse (unfortunately, it isn't an S/CC!) It must have moved from strongbox to strongbox in the Orient before finding its way home like a lost dog. A raw Ebay purchase.

The second addition gives me one of each of the CC Trades. This one is very hard to find unmessed with, and is pretty scarce in general. Purchased from forum member Crypto79

Nice pickups, I particularly like the chopped one. Reminds me of the counterstamped large cents I see from time to time.

I have several others with chops, too, but not this exteme. Finding one with a variety of chops that wasn't "chopped to death" took a little waiting, but they pop up on eBAy fairly often. Beware the coins with tiny light chops though; I was burned on a couple of fakes when I first started collecting these.
    Thanks for the comments.

The Trade dollars are so beautiful and provocative. I can see why you collect them. It is one coin that I would like to add to my collection one day when I have some extra money. I especially like the proofs, but they can be somewhat prohibitive when it comes to price. Do you own any proofs? If you do, please post some of them so we can enjoy.
