hi all,,,its that time when money rolls in for bdays and my mom gave me this. As a very (very) faint collector of bills I was drawn to the fact that there where numbers printed on the bill. So my Q is this, is it post mint or a real error and how much is it worth?? btw Sorry for the pics...they are coming via cell phone and HAPPY 4TH!!!!! :bart: -Dom
I'm not a paper collector, so bear with. But it looks to be most likely post-mint (post-federal reserve?) damage. I would bet money on it.
its a partial teller stamp. more that likely its either the branch number or the teller number. as mentioned before it would hurt the value of the note.
Yea it certainly hurts a little. I have a $100 '29 Brown Seal with a teller stamp, but on the bright side I only paid 120... I would put dirty, missing corners, and a dozen folds in front of a teller stamp though. You guys seen my 1918 $2 Battleship note? LOL Again on the bright side I only paid 190 for that one Personally I don't let small issues stop me from investing in some of these notes! Not everyone has a few thousand for a classic note. Sure a super high grade is cool, but in the long run I think you will get more from your investment with twice as many mid grades. Wait a second - what were we talking about?
