Hi, so I am on vacation with my mom in Atlantic City. There are many cash for gold and coin shops. I went to one where a guy didn't know about his morgan dollars. He sells them 45$ each. There was a 1885-CC and it was in VG condition and possibly better. Yesterday I bought a 1896-o for 45 and it's in just awesome condition but has some dark spots (not black dirt spots but just darkening spots. I checked my redbook and it says that the 1885- CC and goes for $500 in VF so you should have gotton the 1885-CC. For what you did get, the 1896-O , is going for $25 dollars in VF and $30 in EF. You should deffinanly get the 1885-CC! Go back and get it and post pictures! :smile
Okay, will do. What do you think of the quality of the 1896 one? What grade would you give it? I already bought it and I don't care if I got a bad deal because I'll buy the other one >
Okay, he also has buffalo and roosvlt. Nickels that are silver. Should i look at those? What dates should I look for?
go with 1937 D 3 legged or 1918 D 1921 S 1914 D Buffallo 1926s on roosevelt 1946- 1964.. that's all 1996 w.
Well if you are not trying to fill holes in an album or coin folder, then look for what Redwin said, and also if the war nickels are priced under $2.50 dollars, then buy em all up! Same with the roosevelts ! If you are not trying to fill a whole then buy them for the silver and buy them for under $2.50 a peice. The current silver melt value is $35.10 per ounce. So make sure not to get ripped off! :smile
