    I don't know if it is fake or not. Have you asked BillJones on the NGC forums about it? I believe he collects vintage Presidential medals.

    Looks like they got "cheap" with the medals in later years. Who did the reverse? Doonesbury?

    I know very little about it. It was just one of those things that came up and I had to have it. I'm a nut over counterfeit stuff and it looked like something that belonged in my collection. Yes, I know I'm sick. I may ask Bill about it.

    It was sold as a counterfeit, along with others, in the Stack's auction of the John Ford Collection.
    I bought it in Jeremy's last charity cancer auction and felt good paying stupid money to own it.

    Actually they tended to be fairly crude in the early years. By the time of Grant they were usually very nice.
