Report on unused $1 coins

Hey guys we will take those US dollar coins at par here in Canada, even though our dollar is still slightly worth more than yours at this present time.

Forget exchanging bills for bills, bring those coins, and have a field day here as tourists.

Collect what makes you happy, downlow. It’s your collection and if you never have any plans on selling it then don’t worry about it going up in value. I’m a coin hoarder myself…I don’t let any bicentennial quarters I receive in change get spent as such.

 

It seems a shame that the US can't do what every other civilized country in the world has done - get rid of small bills and go with coins.

As for what could be done with the "unwanted" coins - we seem bound and determined to send cash to every middle eastern country. Instead of sending truckloads of $100 bills, we should send the metallic dollar coins instead.
