It's hard to tell from the pics, but could it be a 'satin finish' coin?
From about 2005 to 2010 all the clad coins in the mint sets had a satin finish, as opposed to the regular business strikes that had the good 'ol shiny finish. That is just a guess from the less than optimum pics.

Sorry for raggin' on your pics!
I just got them to open nice and big.
    Much better...
I still don't have any idea though.
The one looks like it could be a circulated satin... but I think that less now than before.

I have been trying to work on my pic. Im using a hand held camera and trying different lighting. Thanks for the help I was puzzled by the dime, not sure what it is.

As I mentioned on another forum I think this one may have a good chance of being a missing clad layer. We need a weight in grams preferably to two decimal places.

    It's just a discolored dime.

I would have to say that the dime was burried. I've found coins that look very similar to the above dime which have been in contact with soil for a while that weren't even entirely beneath the ground yet. This could also be why one side is darker than the other since only one side was in contact with the ground.

It might be discolored, but the copper looking side is very evenly colored and still lusterous while the other side shows no discoloration at all. This seems very odd to me if it is just discolored. The discolored pieces I have seen are typically dull and lifeless. That's why I asked for a weight. If the weight does not indicate a missing clad layer then I would probably go with discolored as well.
