When you know they're fake, it doesn't take a lot away from the show because it's fun watching them act surprised. It's kind of weird how some of them think they're in a real war against the other bidders though. I mean all they have to do bid higher. I wonder how many times they actually get the value for items they claim on the show. What about Hardcore Pawn? The angry customers sure seem genuine.
All of these shows are "real". They are very selectively edited and they are seeded with interests, but that does not mean that they are complete fakes.
I agree. I also just enjoy seeing all the items that come in. Why I like Pawn Stars, but not hardcore pawn in detroit. There seems to be more drama than I ever want to see. Of course it is more interesting when someone brings in coins, but lots of the other items are cool.
I agree...he's supposed to be a professional "collector", but interestingly enough, I can't recall any episodes where he knew anything about what he's found, nor has he ever mentioned which collectible(s) he specializes in. He always takes what he finds to an appraiser not knowing what he has or a ballpark figure as to what it's worth. And he's always the one introducing far-out gimmicks to the show...midget on stilts equipped with night-vision goggles and psychics. -LTB
Guys the trip I made down to the Gold & Silver Pawn here in Las Vegas really busted my bubble. I think all these shows are faked for TV. I believe that people leave thousands of dollars in rented storage units where the rent is 40 bucks a month because they forget they had the stuff ? Nah, they are making a TV show and just because Superman flies on TV, I don't think he can in real life. I think he is limited to Xray vision and allergy to Kryptonite. The rest is all fake. IMHO
