late date large cent tip

    I have been inspired by Marshall :)

    Link is to an 1845 N7 which is officially a R5 coin, although I think it may overstate the rarity. The coin is in very bad shape, but if anyone needs a hole filler I am sure you can pick this one up for cheap. The date position is diagnostic, the 1 is right of the bust, all numbers are far from the bust, and the 1 is tucked up by the dentils. Additionally you can see the repunching inside the 8.

    Thanks for the tip! I have a hard time with most late dates, but the only close match (1 near dentals and left side at gap) looks like N-8 which doesn't have the remnants of the 8 showing.

    N7 is what I think it is. Plus you can see some of the lines thru the loop of the 8.
