In April, I purchased my first ever coin purchase from the US Mint or any other source (I am not young). The last three weeks; I have become addicted to checking the internet for coins and have bought more sets from the mint and secondary sources. Do I have coin fever?
Absolutely, and the only cure is more COINBELL, oops I mean cowbell Welcome to the club, a strange fever it is, but it endures and there is no cure, except collecting EVERY coin ever made.
You're addicted my friend...but it's a good addiction. Good to have you here New. Hope to hear from you often. Bruce
It sounds like you have the coin bug. I would suggest - before you get too heavily invested in coins - that you make sure you know what you are doing. You may want to post some of your purchases so other, seasoned, more-knowledgeable collectors here can comment on your purchases. It is very common for a new collector to go berzerk buying coins only to find out he has been overpaying for common coins, cleaned coins, damaged coins, counterfeit coins, etc.
I'm a recovering coin-aholic. I was so bad I would put dollar bills in the vending machines at work and just press 'change' so I had new coins to look at. It took a few years but I'm where I can cope with my addiction. For a while I was selling old coins just to buy new coins. It seemed like a never ending cycle Good Luck, and welcome to the forum.
NOW THAT'S FUNNY! My first coin incidents were co-incidents and I believe it was no coincident... back at ya...
It is also fun to just share and learn about your new coin purchases here. I bought a couple really attractive coins from Australia and Canada last weekend. I plan to share some coin photos with the people at CT. I almost always learn something about my new purchases when I post them here (either through my own research or by the comments from others).
