I managed to catch the reverse, but not quite the obverse. BTW the orange spots are on the coin, but it took me 5 minutes of twisting and turning to finally find them. Anyone want to stab at the grade? It is in an ANACS blue slab.
Sorry, Larry, but you are way off as am I. I would call it a 64 with a good shot at 65. Being an ANACS slab, it should therefore be a 65, right? Dead wrong. Anyone understand 63? From ANACS? Maybe they saw those spots and did not like them.
Finally finished all the upgrades to my Jeff set... Now all BU from 38-2011. The 39S has orange tone going in streaks, like wood grain. Reminds me of 'woody' cents. The 39D has a light cast that takes on the look of a silver coin.
If I recall correctly, one of the big TPGs has a rule against grading a 'brown' cent higher than 64. Anyone else hear anything like that? Maybe it was ANACS?
I'm not sure about NGC, but PCGS does not have one MS example in 67BN. There are 5 Matte Proof in 67BN and 12 Memorial reverse proofs in 67BN.
This dumb machine wont let me upload pictures.. i'm at my daughters house and it is out dated.. but if you go to my profile and hit "home page" it will take you to my site.. The coin is a 1919 Great Britain Florin AU53 ICG
This 1819 Large Cent is not particularly pretty, but on close examination it appears to be an 1819/8 (Breen 1801). If it is, it would be my first confirmed overdate.
Nice coins all. Love that 1909 IHC, more brown than red a beauty. I will check my books when I get home on that nice 1819 large cent - if someone else has not confirmed the variety.
