This is one of those times were i just go Wahhhh ! Lighthouse or Leuchtturm is a company based in germany and the US. As I´m in Iceland I have to buy from the germany site but they have one of the most redicilous shipping time and turnaround times I have seen. I ordered some items from their site it took them a month to ship the items. And the it takes another month to receive the items as they send them with a ship. WHO SENDS ITEMS NOW A DAYS WITH SHIPS ? I have sent them 2 emails with no response, It´s easy to say " great customer serivce " but to follow that trough seems a donting task for those people. About to go ape " poop " one them and give them a call...... It´s hard to get me ****ed but not answering my questions makes me think why I buy their products. And that my money would be best spent somewere else. Achtung baby ! Siggi
Siggi! Take a deep breath and step away from the computer. Now repeat after me....."I will never use Lighthouse again because it takes too long for them to get their shippments to me". Again....."I will never use Lighthouse again because it takes too long for them to get their shippments to me". Feeling better?
Geez Siggi, it sounds like you're losing it over there. You've got to calm down and do what Green says. We can't afford to lose one of our premier Icelandic coin experts. Just sit back, have several twinkies and relax. Bruce
That really stinks.....Big time. Well Siggi you already know that I have always picked you up things from here in the U.S. and shipped them to you ,,,,,talk to me the next time you need something,,,,It may cost you a few dollars more,,,But you sure the he** wouldn't be waiting two months and still no package.
Frankly I didn't know any post went by ship anymore. Reykavjik airport is big enough to land large cargo aircraft, been doing so since the 1940's. Canna imagine why anybody would send something mailable by ship.
Sorry to hear about your issues Siggi. I've bought several items from the US location of Lighthouse and thankfully have never had shipping issues like yours. I know it's not the same since they are shipping within the same country. I enjoy their products and hope that they figure out a better way to ship from Germany other than on a ship Good Luck!!
Well, I don't buy directly from Leuchtturm but have several of their products. Interestingly they say at their website that ... In the following countries we are presented by trade partners: (...)Iceland (...) So maybe that is their way of discouraging international customer from direct purchases. Also, in the terms and conditions they say "Sofern bei Auftragserteilung nicht etwas anderes vereinbart wurde, wählt LEUCHTTURM die Art der Versendung." Which means something like, unless specified otherwise when the order was placed, Leuchtturm will choose the type of shipment. If you are still waiting for what you ordered and would like me to call them, drop me a PM ... Christian
Could it possibly be that they sent it that way to assure that it actualy got to you? dont forget that you recently had a rather large volcanic erruption with a rather large ash cloud to boot They might have thought it was the better choice to send it by sea? I do agree the turn round time is very slow though a month between getting the order and dispatch is way too long and the lack of response to your emails is rude to say the least. Ps did you pay for airmail or surface delivery?
Italy Post takes 4-8 weeks. I wish they only took a month to deliver. I can track packages to Italy, about 2-5 days from the US to Italy, then another month or 2 after the slow Italian Postal Carrier get the package to deliver.
@mecha1166: Could be the postal service that slows things down in such cases, but might as well be customs ... Christian
I guess! Poor man! I would hate to wait that long! Ahhhhhh!!! :headbang: :stormy: :so-sad: :hammer: :desk: :veryangry: acing: :bangg: :brokenheart: :sniper:
