I'm attending the second session of the ANA Summer Seminar (July 2nd to July 8th). I'm flying into Denver and taking a cab or renting a car to get to Colorado Springs. I'll be in Denver by 11am. Anybody want to split the cost and share a ride?

    Thanks.

    Tom,

Your best bet is to take a shuttle. The cost is $50 (compared to over $200 for a taxi). Check the schedule here. It looks like the shuttle will get you to the Springs airport after 4. I don't know how late ANA runs a shuttle from the airport on Saturday. I do know they shut down the location where you pick up your seminar stuff at 4 but you can get it Sunday morning after 8.

I am attending both weeks. We should plan to meet up while you are here. Shoot me a PM.

Thanks, Hobo. The shuttle won't get me there until after 4. The ANA shuttle from Colorado Springs airport to camp ends at 4 and registration also ends at 4. Plus, I don't want to be at the airport for 3.5 hours waiting for the shuttle. Rental cars and hiring a private car are about the same $145. I"m just going to bite the bullet and pay. That way I'll get to camp by noon. Time is money, friend.

I'm staying on campus and taking the Introduction to Grading I. How about you.....? Let me guess you are taking the class with the the world's most famous left handed hobo nickel carver.... :)

I see you're from CS. If you know anybody that wants to make $100 picking me up at the airport in Denver and driving me to CS let me know.

Hopefully you will find someone to share a ride with. It might be worth your while to contact Susan or Emily (I would recommend Emily because Susan is so busy) and ask if they know of anyone else flying in to DIA about the same time.

I was tempted to take the Hobo Nickel carving course but I have absolutely no artistic talent. Instead I am taking Advanced Digital Coin Photography.

Hang out at the car rental with a sign that says "ANA Seminar" (Not much of a security risk as most people won't have any idea what it means, but coin people going there will.). You'll probably run into someone (or more) going there and you can broach an offer to share the car rental expense. You never know who you might get to share a ride with. I did that back in 1987 at the EAC convention in Dallas and got to share the ride with a specialist in 1794 cents and Walter Breen.
