is 45.00 dollars a good deal for a Iowa half dollar

    Gotta picture? A circulated piece, depending on it's condition, could go for that price. They made lots of these and many are available in high grade for reasonable prices. I got an MS-66 for $140

    Most Iowa Commems are MS60 and above. If the coin has an XF40 or better grade with no significant dinging, it's a good deal.

    I am not familiar with the design on this particular piece, but it looks au 53ish to me.

    IMO it's high end XF.
    Very nice patina.

    What the heck is going on with the right side of the building on the reverse?

    Also the beads on the obverse look funny and out of line... any chance of getting a weight on it?

    I think it might be the way that the coin is photographed Matt. I felt the same way and went and pulled mine for comparison. That's "ivy" on the building (right side). A dead on photo might be in order though.......

    I had to go grab one out of the case to see what it looked like in hand... you are right... the right side of the building does have the ivy... so nothing strange there... I forgot about that.

    That is actually a plant on the columns on the right side of the Stone Capitol Building building, wisteria i think?
