I have wanted a Postumus for awhile & finally got around to getting one. The Roman Republic is a trade that Stainless & I worked out since I had some other coins I wanted to part with. Its my frist brockage of any sort too. Also my photo. Postumus (260 - 269 A.D.) Silver Antoninianus O: IMP C POSTVMVS P F AVG Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right. R: SERAPI COMITI AVG Serapis standing left, raising hand and holding transverse scepter. Cologne mint 20mm 4g RIC 329 RSC 360a Mn. Cordius Rufus, 46 B.C. (Brockage) AR denarius Corinthian helmet with crest upon which owl stands RVFVS Incuse of obverse Crawford 463/2; CRI 64; Sydenham 978; Cordia 4 3.3g
Very cool, great detail on Serapis on the Postumus, nice portrait as well, and 4 grams is a good weight for a coin of his too, nice one! As for the Republican one, the brockage is interesting, and I like the corinthian helmet on it, plus I like all coins with owls, owls are cool animals and I love the depiction of the owl on the later style Athenian tetradrachmai where it is standing on an amphora on it's side. Great additions Mr. "I think I'm going to take a break from ancients for a while" just kidding buddy, I know how it is.
