New Greek Bronze

    I picked this up recently cause I liked the bust of Artemis & I havent bought a greek since Feb., this is only my third greek in my collection.

    Macedon, Amphipolis. 187-168/7 BC
    O: Draped bust of Artemis right, bow and quiver on shoulder.
    R: Artemis Tauropolos riding right on bull, veil billowing out behind her.

    Cool addition, looks like it has a nice smooth glossy patina too.

    only complaint about the patina is its hard for me to photograph 'em

    That is a fact. I average about half a dozen tries before I get a photo I can live with when there is a dark and polished patina.

    I think those kind would be good candidates for the 3d photos

    Greek bronzes are a whole other world. This is the stuff where good references, and good memory come in. I have a pile that I haven't been able to track down, but to be fair only try sporadically.
