Here is a Woods/Hibernia 1/2 penny I picked up for $20 two years ago. Then it was sold as Good. Today it might be sold as Fine, LOL Take Care B
Bone, this would be graded G,but it is a very interesting Irish coin.I have got one of these & the Farthing. Aidan.
For some reason this coin reminds me of the film "Darby O'Gill and the Little People." I remember it from when I was a child and always liked it... STRANGE :hatch:  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0052722...B8bG09NTAwfGNvPTF8aHRtbD0xfG5tPTE_;fc=1;ft=20
Have you ever read 'Drapier's Letters'? This has a reference to William Woods' Irish coinage in it. Aidan.
I have a 1723 also, mine probably grades VF, it along with my 1723 Rosa Americana piece comprise the sum of my USA colonial coins. Sometime I should image them and share them, but they are tucked safely away from here.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Drapier's_Letters I found this basic reference and had always understood they were initially minted for Ireland, but sent to America due their unpopularity. B
Rosa Americana. Krasnaya Vityaz, the Rosa Americana (Latin for 'American Rose') coins have a very interesting design.I have never seen one,let alone been offered one.If someone offered me one at the right price,I'd gladly snap it up to put in my British Commonwealth coin collection. Aidan.
