I found this half dollar in a box of coins given to me by a family member and it has obviously been cleaned. It also looks like it may have been buffed because it shines brighter then any other coin I have seen. On the obverse, most of the dress lines are visible and on the reverse, some of the feather lines are still there. I was putting it at G/VG which would put it somewhere between $10 to $14, but I didn't know how much the cleaning would hurt the value. Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated. Also, I apologize for the pictures, the coin is so shiny it was hard to get the lighting right.

It's just junk silver, no numismatic value. About $11-12 is fair

Current melt value is $12.41. The cleaning/polishing destroyed any numismatic value, but it's one of the most common dates anyhow -- even if it hadn't been cleaned, it probably wouldn't be worth much more.

Enjoy it for the sentimental value, and the shininess. :) It's still a beautiful coin.

Thanks guys, that is pretty much what I was thinking. It is a pretty coin though.
