Eh, i'm 90% sure this is PMD. But I know nothing about Liberty nickels, so just wanna make sure this isn't some sort of error. The 1 in 1905, appears to have another 1 under it... but i'm thinking its just so worn down. Let me know what you guys think, thanks. :)))

There are quite a few varieties for Liberty Nickles and the 1905 has several. One that might be yours is the "1905/19 (FV-RPD-001, PM-42.1 )"

Repunched 1 seen below the serif. Repunched 9 seen below the middle.

Take a close look at the "9".

This info, and much more, is available at the Liberty Nickle Collector Society:

Maybe I'm seeing things now lol, but after looking closer...it seems the 1, 9, and 5 are re punched?...maybe I'm going crazy though xD

I won't comment on the crazy part until you post a real good closeup of the date.

    Then you're open game!

I am looking at the right hand side of the 9, look at the little shiny lumpy edge on the edge of it, shows me something, IDK what though, since I am not expert on this series either.

Hard call from that pic. That coin could go either way.

Well, got a scan...guess my scanner sucks though. It seems even more difficult to see the PMD or error. Wish I could just show you guys in person :p. Well hope this scan helps a bit anyways....

Eh, guess this is the best pic I can get. Took it through a magnifying glass.

There's definitely something going on with the 1, the 9 and probably the 0. I would guess it is a variety.

I would be more than 90% sure it is PMD. The "1"'s on those nickels do not normally have rounded bases. The only way I know they could have developed such a trait would be from external forces.

So think there is no way that it was possibly stuck twice on the date? Or possibly a semi greased die? I'm of course new to this stuff...just started getting into this stuff about 8 months ago. So probably using wrong terms hehe. Thanks all for your input and help though :)

Lol don't even remember posting the last post....:S. Anyways, girlfriend has a new scanner. Hopefully its better then mine, will attempt to get new scans. Also I used a new magnifying glass (still a weak one) but i can 100% say for sure i think the 0 is re-punched, still not sure on the 1/9. I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks again for those who have helped so far ;)
