    Hi all,
I have no experience or knowledge when it comes to error coins, but I came across this dime today and I'm curious to see what you think about it.

When compared to a normal dime, the obverse appears to be just slightly off-center. The reverse appears to be normal. The effect is so small that I can't imagine that it's worth much (if it even is an error), but I'm curious whether it is and whether it is worth anything but 10¢. This is potentially my first error coin, so it's kind of an exciting find even if no one will ever pay me anything for it!

Note: in one photo I included a second, "normal" dime for comparison. The possible error one is a P and the normal one is a D.

    Thanks!

What you have described (and what I see in your photos) is a MAD (misaligned die). An off-center would be off center on both obverse and reverse. MADs are fairly common and command little to no premium.

Ah, well I suspected as much. Thanks for your help!

Either looks double-struck in collar or is a misaligned die. It is most likely the misaligned die. Infact, I just came across a 1997 Kennedy Half with that same error. Not too uncommon, and people usually mistake them for off-center strikes.

EDIT: Sorry, I see that Hobo has already been stated the problem. I usually post my comments without reading previous ones. Maybe I should break that bad habit... Haha. At least I was right this time. It's more embarrassing when I'm incorrect.
