I was metal detecting a old plantation and found this nice condition large cent. I know there are 16 varieties of this year and from I can tell it looks like a Newcomb 1. The front just has a solid rim but the back has a ribbed rim to the left of One Cent. anyone know what this coin could be worth?

    Thank you!!

The rim is the money maker on this coin. I swear it looks like a scarce one. But $20 bucks for a penny is a good return. LOL

Looks more like an N-10 than N-1 based off what I can see. Of course nice large crisp clear pictures would be nice. I would say the value is between $15 - $20. Then again on ebay who knows. Nice find.

I find a ton of these. Some are pretty worn but I do find some that the chemicals for field crops haven't eaten them away. I have alot of seated dimes, half dimes, 3 cent silver coins and small spanish silver coins as well. I throw them in a box as 20-30 bucks doesnt excite me but love digging them. History is great! Of course I find a whole lot of Civil War stuff that makes $$$$.
