A Visit To The Dahlonega Branch Mint

    When I was a kid in Boy Scouts we went somewhere up that way panning for gold. That was really fun and we found some, too. Maybe you could do that if you are still there!! Thanks for the write-up.

    Interesting. Is was not aware they did hydraulic mining in Dahlonega.

    Obviously hydraulic mining came well after the Mint closed. It wrecked many streams and valleys (like other places it was used).

    Cool thread. I was looking for info about visiting this place on google and it brought me here haha. Hopefully I can make it out there today.
