I recently received these 2 coins from Teletrade. As you can see the PCGS holders are different. Which one is the older style? I'm just curious. I don't think Teletrade would sell a counterfeit slab would they? -Thanks
I could be wrong, but I think the top one is a PCGS 8 from around 2001/2002. The bottom one looks like a PCGS 13 from 2002-2004. From Conder101's thread: PCGS 8 These are the same style as PCGS 6 but now the Coin and Series numbers have been added. Again this type was only used for circulation type coins (and proofs) until mid 2001 when Classic Commems also started appearing in this slab. The PCGS 8 slab continued in production until Feb 2002. PCGS 13 The slab used for circulation type coins and Classic commemoratives. This is the same as PCGS 8 with the Coin and Series numbers, but the barcode has now been moved to the front label. This was used from Feb 2002 to Nov 2004
If I were to make a guess without knowing anything about the company, I would think that the one without the barcode would be older. Chris
