What is the most valuable world coin in dollar value in normal circulation?

I don't mean errors or silver, just a regular coin that is currently minted by some country for normal use in commerce.

Off the top of my head, the highest one I can think of is the Swiss 5 Franc coin, which at today's exchange rates is worth $5.97.
Does anyone know of a more valuable (dollar value) circulating currently minted coin?

    Thanks

Edit: I then thought of the 500 Yen Japan coin which is worth $6.23

Yep, those two are the pieces with the highest denominations. :)

In theory, the crown-sized £5 coin (1990 onwards) could circulate in the UK ... unlikely, but it is legal tender for that amount.

By the same token - what would be the highest denomination note in circulation? Off the top of my head, I can think of the €500 (approx $710).

There was also a 20$ canadian silver coin meant to be less than the silver value offered by their mint about 6 months ago. I mean minted for circulation purposes.

Well, there's Switzerland again. ;) They do have a 1000 CHF note which would be about 1,200 USD. Like the 500 euro note, that one is regularly printed and issued these days. But both notes are not exactly common; some stores do not accept them at all, others take them only if the amount due comes close to (or exceeds) the note's value ...
