My daughtor is collecting Indian Head Pennies. I would like to start collecting the varieties at the same time, could you guys and gals suggest some good books on varieties for IHC. We have R. Snow's book " A Guide Book of Flying Eagle and Indain Head Cents" but this book just mentions varieties but not alot of pictures or descriptions. Thanks Art
If you can find a copy I like "The F.IND.ERS Report, A Comprehensive Guide to Selected Rare Flying Eagle And Indian Cent Die Varieties" by Larry R. Steve and Kevin J. Flynn published by Nuvista Press in 1995. It covers many of the major varieties with lots of good photos. Richard
You may have the Red Book version. Rick Snow's 4-volume set of attribution guides for FECs and IHCs are very detailed and have lots of photos. He recently completed the last volume. These are the best attribution guides available. You can purchase the books here: Eagle Eye Rare Coins.
