About a year ago my grandma gave me a German Flak box from WWII that contained a lot of old war relics and family mail. It also had some bank notes. I didn't think much of them a year ago, but now I'm into collecting. I have about 15-20 notes of different places from when my family served in the war. I was wondering if you guys could help me out and tell me a little bit about them since I have no clue as to what I'm holding. Thanks, Nick.
Edit- I have pictures of about 15 of them. I know there is a limit on the amount of pictures. A lot of them are to big to upload. I'm wondering if I can reply to the thread with more pictures and that won't be breaking rules?
The 3 notes are Germany Allied Military Currency -P192 - 1 Mark - 1944 Belgium Kingdom in Exile -P122 - 10 Francs-2 Belgas - 1943/44 Bohemia & Moravia- P8 - 10 Korun - 1942-44
there is also a 5 frank note in red from belgium with the same design, they sell for around £2 each over here in fine condition,http://www.cointalk.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=127410&stc=1&d=1308585406
Are they from a relative's WWII experience? I ask because the Bohemian note has handwriting on it like a snort-snorter. The US Army briefly occupied the Bohemia-Moravia area of what is now the Czech Republic when the war ended. It is very possible that whomever had these notes was part of that invasion and short term occupation of Czechoslovakia in 1945.
i collect wartime notes and coins from around europe, especially occupation and liberation issues, there are some really interesting items to be had for relatively low prices. one of the funniest pieces i have is a WW 1 german 1000mark note where the british soldier who was the graddad of a friend of mine, wiped his ass on it....as a mark of contempt. needless to say it is seasled in a mylar holder............
My favorite is that Netherlands note. I thought it was fake at first because it had the American Bank Note company on the bottom of it. My friends made fun of me haha, but last night after cracking these all out, I learned about the American Bank Note company. I think it's awesome. I'm so new to this and I have a lot to learn, but I'm really enthusiastic.
It is the legendary figure Takenouchi no Sukune who was the great-grandson of Emperor Kogen (214 BC - 158 BC) and the minister to several Japanese emperors. Gary

Thank you manymore. It's hard to identify these Chinese and Japanese notes since I am new to this and there is limited or no English on them.
