I don't usually collect proofs, but this is one I just couldn't sell - so I added it to my personal collection. I bought it raw and it just certified PF66 RB, so I had Todd photograph it and just got his photos! The colors on this beauty are really vibrant and stunning - what do you think?
I agree with Chris ; ) Seriously, I think that is breathtaking. Good eye and nice buy, no matter the price!
I can't see what's stopping it from 67. Very deserving of it's grade, and awesome colors! I like the direct contrast from her cheek to the field. Great eye Charmy
I love it. Should go well with the cool collection you have built. It must be tough to sell and collect. It would be for me.
Thanks everyone, I'm glad you appreciate it as much as I do. I intend to hold onto it for a long time. By the way, here's another pretty Indian cent I picked up in Long Beach - it replaces a lower grade 1896 S-1 that didn't have the pretty toning this one has.
That 1896 is alright for toning...it's just....weird in my vision. Still, 100 years before I was born!
Speaking of Proof Indians and the Penny Lady .... I bought this Proof Indian from her in May. I wouldn't part with mine either. Proof Indians are very cool (and not that expensive in the scheme of things). Thanks Penny Lady for finding such great coins! So many of us depend on you for nice copper.
WOW!, that is a killer coin, thanks for posting it. It isnt everyday you see something like that, what a beauty!
Yes, i fell in love with this on the penny lady's web site. I love the irradescent (sp?) colors on the headdress and that bit of green in Miss Liberty's ear. The photos were taken by Todd of blueCCPhotos who always manages to bring out the best in coins. I think it was a bit over $800, certainly much cheaper than a colorful Matte Proof Lincoln, which runs $3000+
