I have a 1944s Australian Three Pence that i'm not so sure of. The coin is smaller than a dime and was hard for me to tell at first but I seem to have gotten some decent photos. At first I thought it was maybe a mirroring of the letters edge but you can see for yourself... pictures are of the obverse of the coin.
Thats pretty strange, some parts look like a DD, MD, & Die Detioration Doubling. Its possible to have multiple doublings on the same coin, but maybe someone who is more into it will have a better answer...
Machine doubling mixed with some die deterioration near the crevices in the letters of the coin. I don't believe it is a doubled die, but then again I am unfamiliar with this particular coin. I don't dabble in the world of foreign coinage. -Brian EDIT: By the way, it is "doubled die" not "double die". This is because the die is DDOOUUBBLLEEDD<--- clever
I just found another Australian 1944 s three pence that was classified as a double die obverse by PCGS. But I still need some clarifying...:^(
