I really think numismatics is my destined hobby. I am into silver coins (dimes, quarters, halves, dollars) and as we all know silver is on an upward trend in the last year. Everytime and i mean everytime a show is coming up for me, i fall into a large sum of money AND the price of silver starts to plumit. I have a show on saturday. This time two weeks ago, i had zero dollars, none of the coins i was selling had activity, and the price of silver was at like fprty two dollars pto. NOW, however, i have over one hundred dollars from allowance, babysitting, and other funding, i sold my coins, and the price of silber is under 35 right now, and dropping. Everything just seems perfect at the time of a show haha. This mit just be me analyzing it too much but i feel that i am pretty lucky. Now if only i could find a 1913 v nickel in circulation ;)

I like that you like coins so much, I used to be buying coins all over. I will be more realistic and find the 1914-D in change.

I think you have a lot more chances to find a double denomination of any date..

I remember your type of enthusiasm. When I was young I used to work on a farm and make $35 a week. At that point US silver was $5 per dollar and Canadian was $4 per dollar (at the Sunday Flea Market). I loaded up. A bunch of silver Canadian dimes got stolen from my car at one point WAY back (1988 I think), I replaced it since. My Roosevelt collection is primarily made up of stuff from that time in my life.

Oh yeah, in response to the posts title. I too was born to collect, and collect I have. I have gotten old enough to have a collecting room. Wow. Coins, world mostly, stamps, got some rocks, tokens, old maps, and etc. I have collected beer cans and bottle caps. I might collect toe fuzz if there was a catalog for it. I got ya on this one. However, I think at some point born to collect might mean OCD. I'm not sure but I've gotta touch the door knob 49 times to make sure.

You might want to invest in a metal detector Ryan, you may find that nickel in the dirt somewhere. Enjoy your luck while you have it...I think it's my turn now.

Ditto, but I'm thinking of selling some silver and gold to buy it. Maybe some stamps too. I want a Whites, but would settle for a Garrett....

Yes, I would love one of those too, but I'll have to settle around the 200-400 dollar mark.
