Hey! I have a coin that I need help on finding what it is worth. The label on the slab says 71. B.C. Roman Republic Mn. Aquillius Mn.F. AR Denarius, Rome Mint. Is there any way of finding an approximate mintage? Also what do you think it is worth?

From the top of my head I would say there is no way to determine mintages of ancient coins really, just relative rarity in the marketplace. Second, I would say a ANACS EF40 without seeing it would classify as a VF ancient in my experience, (maybe lower).

I don't have my Sear book here, but will check later and give you that guidebooks price for a VF if someone hasn't answered you yet. Most VF Republicans used to be worth about $50 retail, but in the last couple years has gone up to about $100 for simple generic pieces, more for scarcer issues.

Also might add the reverse has a roman dragging a woman who is slumped.
