That's a nice example of the key of Memorial cents.

I got a new job, so I'll be opening an account at PNC to make them my primary bank, and leave TD by the wayside as a purely change bank.

While at the branch that messed up my, above mentioned, deposit today I pulled a 40% half out of the tray. Oh, and a cent out of a coinstar.

Went all over stopping at 8 banks today and got whatever each one had (in halves) and was able to get about 50 rolls skunked, skunked and skunked again. I have a question some of the pros may answer. I search the rolls and am only interested in the silver but is their any certain halves that I should be looking for? Because when you're not finding any silver something of value would still be nice and I'm just a as clueless as my tag says. Thanks to any and all in advance.

I searched rolls for the first time ever today. I searched 14 nickel rolls
    I found
    2 war nickels 1943 d and 1945s
    1941, 1947, 1954 d, 1959 d
    a couple of 1960,61,62
and a lot of 1963's and 4's anything older than that I didnt keep.

Anything 2001 and up are NIFC, not intended for Circulation, some keep those. Anything with an "S" mint mark, those are proofs, some are silver, most are not.

It gets better: my husband brought home a box of dimes and guess what??? Skunk

He brought a box of quarters too. I'm starting those now. I'm not feeling lucky :(

That makes me cringe....big time bummer. You have to be getting all of the skunks out of the way and your setting yourself up for a big score!

Great finds! I love searching Nickels. I was reading about a page back and it looks like Merc Crazy might have been looking for a 1943 D for a while. (I'm going by the Gah) :)

I did 2 boxes of dimes today 1 from Wells Fargo and 1 from TD Bank.

Wells Fargo: 1 - 2007 Canadian dime, no silver
    TD Bank: 2 Rosies (1961 and 1964)

Not much Silver today but at least something.

I saw a Coin Dealer last weekend at a local Farmers Market that had Kennedy Halves from 2002 up through 2010 with P & D sets of NIFC for sale for $4 a set. So, $1 worth of coins for $4. I asked him if he'd buy them.

He said only by the roll. So, I think I may start keeping them again. I figure if he'll give me a buck a coin it's an easy way to double your money a little. If I get enough rolls then maybe I can use the gains

for some more junk halves (i.e. my favorite - Franklins)!

Wow, 2k with nothing to show, that is discouraging. I hope you have a much better day tomorrow. Maybe you can score a silver from a reject tray and get some silver for less than face!

Thanks VACookey - I was having a blah week last week till Friday. After I did my No Skunks! No Skunks! No Skunks! chant...then all things have broke good.

I'm finding silver each day. Try it! It might work!

Tomorrow will be a bright and shiny day with hints of Silver in it for you ! I'm predicting it!

    Today's finds

Thanks for your response Slamster in regards to the lady with all the junk silver she is willing to sell me. I willl just play it by ear and see when she gets the coins. I will make here a decent offer, probably around spot. Hopefully she can keep an eye out for loose silver around the bank too, but this may back fire as she might try and keep it and sell it to me too...lol.

Anyway, I did pick up a box of halves today. And man these Brinks boxes have been nice to me lately.

    Found:
    12 40%ers (2 were enders)
    1 90%er
    another counter-stamped "gold-plated" half
    1987 Portugal 50 Escudos (copper-nickel)

Odd thing is I found Zero NIFC '02 and up in this box. Which I'm fine with. I stopped hanging on to these, and actually dumped everything I had. I don't know what to do with them. I had about $60 worth of NIFC '02 and up that were in good shape. I've been short on money lately so I decided heck with them. If I decide to stock up on them again, I know I'll find plenty more in the future.

This was a fun box. One more box coming Thursday, this one will be a String & Sons which really haven't yielded me much.

Next week I should have a box to search every day of the week, that should be fun.

Here is a pic of the dirty '64 I found w/ the counter-stamp & Portuguese coin.
