My latest roman republic that I ended up getting VERY cheap. Ive loved this coin's art pretty much since I first saw it last year & am now a proud owner of one.:hail:

This is a great example. The type never seems to have the full legend (here missing FOSTLVS to the left of the shepherd who barely hangs onto the edge). My personal coin is off this same direction so I'd like to have one showing FOSTLVS. I'm generally a cheapskate but consider this one worth at least $150 or so.

I know better examples show the birds above in the tree also but then it seems the ROMA is missing. I am pretty happy with this type. It was bought as a "soft silver" and got it for much less then $150. I was even told by the dealer I could throw it on ebay and maybe make a ok profit, but unless times get hard, its staying put in my collection!

Im enjoying the roman republic coinage so far.

Got one in Long Beach I will be posting probably by later next week. First quadriga type for me & it isnt a roma head.

Very nice coin Mat. This coin could go into so many types of different sets it makes my head spin. I definitely would love to pick one up in the future.

I find any Roman Republican that isn't the Roma head/Quadriga to be scarcer and a lot more interesting. I definitely could see myself picking more up in the future. I never understood RR collectors when I was younger, but I think I was mostly exposed to the commonest issues.

I still really love your coin under your nameplate.

Very nice! Beautiful coin, and I agree with medoraman about the coin as your avatar, that is a beautiful republican denarius! I have always loved the ones with a bust of Victory like that, great stuff Mat!

    Thanks for the new comments.

I agree Chris, the Roma head/Quadriga isnt a type I really want only because its so common but I do have a republic with a Quadriga I will be posting in a few days but a better obverse.
