    Hey Zaneman...That is so cool!! Buckwheat was a member of the old time series (TV) called Our Gang!

    There was Spanky, Frogy, Darla, Alfalfa, Buckwheat, and the bad guy,,Butch! What a great TV series and that is a collectable no doubt!

    Thanks for the post!

    I hate to burst your bubble, but Our Gang predates TV by at least 17 years!

    The first moviie short subjects were made in 1922, and for all practical purposes TV debuted for the general public at the 1939 New York World's Fair.

    Among the many child actors appearing in the films over a 22-year period was my neighbor Giovanni (Bobbie) Gubitosi, who became Bobby Blake when he got the role of Li'l Beaver in the Red Ryder films, and later gained a bit of noteriety as Robert.:D

    Yeah - the picture is being sold. The only connection to coins is that the guy selling the picture primarily sells coins :rolleyes:

    Hey Roy...not busting my bubble at all :whistle: . I watched that series when I was a young boy back in the late 50's and early sixties...I did not know the exact dates of the films or that TV was dubeted in 1939..all I was saying is that the Buckwheat poster is cool...I ought to buy one and hang it over my safe! Everytime I want to add to my collection I could say O'Tay! :whistle:

    Hello Speedster...Yep you are correct on that one...the old time comedy was a blast.. I love watching the 3 Stooges as well...and I already have AJ laughing at them too...have a good one...

    RickieB

    BTW... just added the 2006 1/10 oz APE as well as the 1/2oz 2005 APE...have you seen the mintages on the 2005's??

    1oz= 6,310
    1/2 oz= 9,013
    1/4 oz = 12,013
    1/10 oz= 14,013

    Have em all except the $100 APE...saving up for that one! It's a instant modern rarity!!:D

    I think he is giving " a shiny morgan" to the winner too. I don't read Ebonics particularly well, but it seems that is the intent of the last sentance of the description.

    I think the seller is someone trying (and failing) to be funny by imitating Buckwheat's dialect.

    I bought a morgan from this seller a year or so ago,way over graded and cleaned. I cant say if they did the cleaning but either way it was misrepresented. I would stay away even if I knew what they were selling in this auction.:confused:
