I know I posted this in the US coin forum, but I am never sure where the best place to post things are, so I will post it here also.

Does anyone have or know where I can find a picture of a 1958 double die wheat cent. I have heard about them but know one that has supposedly seen one can ever tell me where they were doubled. I know that it is the obverse that is doubled, but I have no clue if it is the letters, the date, or Lincoln himself. Any help would be great. Thanks, Brent.

Here's a lightened version of a supposed one being sold on EBay. The seller's picture is a black blob. :(

I guess they're talking about the "1", and possibly the "9" as well.

An awful lot of fooforaw over nada, IMHO.

Ok thanks. Now I was always told it was on the Philadelphia minted coins not the denver minted coins.

There are 2 known 1958-P doubled die cents. They were found in a mint sewn bag around 1960. They have strong doubling on Liberty and In God We Trust. Here is a scan from a recent Coin World.

There is a master die (1-O-VII MDDO-001) used in striking both proof and business strikes. Another (1-O-I-CW DDO-001) known only as used for business strikes and then (2-O-II-C DDO-002) known only as used for proofs. I don't have any information on 1958-P DDOs from the (Wexler-NCADD) files.

Forgot to add (1-O-I-CW DDO-001) is listed as F/S 01.022.15 (Cherrypickers).

I have a 1936 Lincoln cent that showed complete doubling of all devices and lettering on both sides.

    Then I sobered up.
