I have a coin here I picked up that I believe is Western Kshatrapa just like the other in my gallery, only its better centered and a much nicer reverse. Trouble is, I have little info to go on. Could this be Rudrasimha I or Viradaman I am leaning towards Chandragupta II only cause it matches some other pieces online and not so much the more common Kumaragupta I. Coin's very dark in hand so brightness pumped in photoshop. Thanks for any help! 14mm, 2.1g
This coin awfully matches Rudradaman I but still not sure as I cant understand the inscriptions. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rudradaman_I
My guess might be Rudrasena but I am absolutely no good at these. Remember that the ruler's name appears at the top of the reverse and the bottom usually shows the name of his father so a good match on the bottom may not be a good match. The easiest resource I've found is to search VCoins for the name you suspect and seek similarities. Let me add that I did not research this answer like I would have were the coin mine but am merely pointing out where I would start looking. Another good resource is Coin India: http://coinindia.com/galleries-rudrasena1.html
