I know that when they first came out they were worth $20. Now what is the value of the nickel now?

The P&D from bank rolls, have sold on eBay recently for around $2.50.

The P&D from uncirculated mint sets have sold on eBay recently for $3.50.

The proofs have sold for around $3.50 - $5.

As an aside, I just found a 2009 D nickel in my pocket change. This is the first "wild caught" 2009 nickel I've seen!

Bobbeth is right. Rodzm was the first seller of 2009 p nickels on ebay, he's a member here. He made alot of money. His only mistake was divulging his source (Puerto Rico) in a numismatic article. Otherwise he would have made 5 times what he made. Moral of story: If you find the Lost Dutchman's Gold Mine, keep quiet.

  8. I have found both P and D 2009 Nickels in pocket change now, so each are worth 5 cents to me. :D TC

2009 coins (nickels, dimes, and quarters) are virtually impossible to find in central NY. I've removed a few 2009 quarters out of circulation but mostly while traveling. I've yet to find a 2009 nickel or dime. I'm almost to the point of $2.50 for one of them. Ok, I'm not that crazy, yet.
