I have no clue if these are real or not. The larger bill matches up well with what is selling on ebay. The other I'm not sure. It indicates Tennessee on it - has been torn and taped.

    Any insight would be helpful.

    Thanks

The first note should have a CSA watermark. It should also have some color, which I'm not seeing.

Where would the water mark be located? Color on front - not like back anyhow. It has aged from where it came from.

Here is a pic of the back.

I'm going to guess it is a replica ...

I'm not sure where the watermark is supposed to be. I just read it was supposed to have one somewhere. I'll try to see if I can find some better info for you. Don't write it off as a replica just yet.

The CSA note looks like a T66? This is one of those notes where a period counterfeit (CT66) is worth more, however the cuts looks more like a real one. Value maybe 35-150 depending on condition, and twice that for the CT66...
Didn't find the TN note in my Southern States book, so it could be some form of obsolete railroad note... Just bought a railroad note issued in Michigan for twenty bucks in much better condition, so the value is not to crazy unless it's like the 1889cc of railroad notes? Sorry no book on these...

I think I just bought one of those notes from Heritage Auctions. Man, I hope mine is legit!

I am no expert but I don't think you should expect to find this note in a book on Southern States obsolete currency because the note was issued by the Confederate States of America, not the State of Tennessee.

Actually it was right there in the link Guy gave us, under Southern State Issued Currency for Tennessee. I'm a little confused why it's not listed in my Whitman Guide?
Most CSA treasury notes where issued under Montgomery or Richmond.
