How did you acquire such an album full of gems? Not asking specifically where you bought them, but how was an album full of beauties like this still togethor and then put into your hands? Also, was it priced accordingly?
Very lucky and searching Ebay listings. I did very well on this one. I got all 48 coins for just over melt value including the album.
Holy smokes. That's what I like to hear! If you can't tell, I am very jealous. I love toners and therefore I am starting to not like you. I assume the rest of the grades will be very similar, with a few more *'s.
Lol. Hope you are right about the similar grades and *. The rest are in Economy so it won't be until early June before I see the grades.
Whats your plan on the slabs? Selling? Hoarding? Should I start watching the auction threads for my chance to buy some?
I will probably just keep them unless the right offer comes around. I really enjoy the look of this set. By the way. New contest is up and running. I have 9 dimes included in the album. They weren't very toned so I did not submit them for grading.
Wow! Amazing score on the dimes and you didnt even a receive a cheap shot from Bynum afterwards!!!! It is a stunning set.
You did better than good flyers, but geez...a Flyers fan? That's really disturbing. By the way, don't tell anybody I said that, I live right across the river from Philly and people get real upset with you if you're not a true believer. Bruce
Thanks Bruce- You got to be a Devils fan. Flyers fans are a pretty passionate bunch that's for sure. I am in Texas so we are few and far between down here. Let's hope for a better season for both teams next year.
Um....flyers10 did you already give away that album in a contest? If not send me a link please! -Taylor
Actually a very good question. FT for Full Torch. NGC uses that and PCGS uses FB or Full Bands. http://www.ngccoin.com/news/viewarticle.aspx?NewsletterNewsArticleID=426 From what I understand NGC is tougher on this designation since they require they also require the vertical bands on the torch to be defined as well as both bands to be split.
Those Roosevelt's really are something! Puts some of the toned Roosie's I've flipped over the past year look like they are blast white! Stunning set!
Thanks. Still waiting to get the grades back from NGC for the coins from 1946-1954. They have been there since April 25 so should be close.
