Here are some coins/tokens that I found in my collection that I have no idea what they are or if they have value. If anyone has information I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Adam
Nice tokens. I don't know a value, but I collect this sort of thing when I find them. The bottom 2 right are something like business cards. The Woodrow Wilson token was part of a gas station give-away to give children something to do on long trips. You got the cardboard holder first, similar to a Whitman folder, but it didn't fold. Then you collected the individual presidents each time your parents stopped for gas. I think it was Shell that did the presidents. That one probably has the least value of your set. The others I know little to nothing about.
The token on the bottom left looks like an older Chinese/Japanese character for "green" (綠). In Japan, at least, it's also a fairly common girl's name ("Midori").
Top row, second coin from the left - possibly a german pfennig I have two german pfennigs that have the same front side, but on the reverse have the number 10 So the backside of yours in different than mine. I'm not 100% sure, I'm new to this. Google "german pfennig" and see if you can find something similar to yours. Goodluck adam!
I wont argue with you on that because I could easily be wrong.. Maybe I was wrong about my coins? Only the front side of his coins match mine.. I'll post pictures of mine, hold on.
the more I look at it now, and compare the pictures of mine with theirs, I can see the difference in the amount of leaves/stems on the image. My coins have less leaves branching off... my apologies. I'm still new to this...
No problem whatsoever. This forum is one of the best places around for both beginners and advanced collectors to learn about coins
you are not wrong about your coins they are indeed german pfennig. The tree is a very common simbol on coins
Thank you all for your valuable replies. Are any of these of value? I am also very interested about the aluminum one on the top right. Any ideas? From what I have research it appears that the bottom row and the presidential token have little to no value. Thanks, Adam
You can probably find out more about your Canadian sou token by Googling "Montreal" "sou" "token" or "Breton" "sou" "token" (looks like it could be Breton #692)
Thankyou and yes, I'm really loving this site! You're all very, very helpful. I only have a small collection, with a few coins, nothing very valuable. Hopefully though, I'll have the money to get invested in something larger
