My wife and sisters recently inherited 17 two inch think binders full of foreign coins and some currency from all over the world. We have an inventory but it is on paper. We are not even sure if what is in the binders is accurately reflected on the inventory. I am thinking that it might be worthwhile to purchase some software to conduct an inventory and possible valuation. Anyone have any suggestions? I would not say money is no object but I want something good. I want something that will save me time, list varieties ect. The end game is to be able to take this inventory to a dealer and be able to have an educated conversation. This is a new realm for me. I have collected US coins and paper money for almost 30 years but I am very ignorant of world coins.
get the world collecting bug, it's infectious and even the less valuable coins can have a great appeal.
Hello Fifty, I started using a program call "exact change". Here is the link to their site: http://www.exactchange.info/ It works pretty well with world coins. It's easy enough to add a country as you need it. I haven't had any problems and it's very simple to use. They have a free trial version you can download too.
