Hallo, my friends! Anyone heard something about Tajikistan? And, what about Tajikistan's coins?
I have a big stuff of a coins of that exotic country. And I hope that you'll like it.
As for Tajikistan, I must say that this country was a part of USSR until December 1991. Since 1991 Tajikistan is an independent republic. It has an area 141800 sq.km/ and a population about 7350000.
A population of Tajikistsan are very poor. Most of men working in Russia, as a cheap unskilled workers.
Tajikistan is rather non-democratic country. Economics of Tajikistan is very weak.

Since Tajikistan is a fairly small and poor country, I'm curious if they have their own mint facility or do they contract for a private mint to make their coinage like other small countries?

You can see that the coins have the mintmark of St. Petersburg, Russia.

 

Since I'm not familiar with coins from this part of the world, I assume you mean the small hallmark at about 5 o'clock.

these sets retail for around £3.50p in the uk, as do the vast majority of former ussr republics issues.
