1884-S Morgan ...Grade?

    +1 Hairlines from a harsh cleaning. That was a NICE coin until someone ruined it. Au58 details.

    Added: Mint mark looks suspect to me.

    Ok so i believe there are a couple sizes of mms used large med and small andmany were repunched i wanna say genuine coin lacking luster

    The 1884-S used only the type IV mint mark I believe, although some are shifted,tilted, and even repunched. This is a medium sized mm.

    Yes, it had the type IV (medium) as well as the type VI ( very large) S, and variations thereof.

    i'm pretty new here but i'm gonna have to agree with the others, It looks as though it was sanded down with sand paper prior to being polished out, except they didn't polish it.
