Hey everyone! Had what I consider a pretty successful flea market weekend. I acquired all of the following coins/bills - and I'm curious which you'd keep for your own personal collection. I'm also keeping all the bills - because at this point I don't think there will be much of a premium (and I don't have that many bills in my collection, anyway.)

Prices are from CoinPrices magazine, July 2011. Yes, I know many of you use Numismedia FMV guide. Duly noted - I'm looking at that as well. I appreciate anyone's input!

I was able to pick this out of a huge collection for a grand total of $400. Spent 6 hours over two days there. Photos - which coins do you want to see?

Thats a good find! I recently bought some of the same coins from my dealer and he used a greysheet to price them. I payed a little less. For example, I got a 57 flying eagle in EF for $40 and a '09 VDB in EF for $12. This would lead me to believe that the prices you stated are a little inflated, especially if your gonna try to sell them on ebay or to a coin shop.

Still a great find and worth more than the $400 you paid!

As for what I would keep, I tend to keep the best examples from each date and mintmark. A have a few doubles, but not many. At this point, I would also save all the silver and think about dumping it when/if the price comes back up.

Maybe you did well. Hard to say. Sometimes you find a gem in a collection like that.

Most flea market coins are pretty rough, IMO. Damaged, cleaned, horribly treated. Price guides mean little if no one wants them. It can be really difficult to sell a $5 coin for a buck profit.

I agree with zach24. Share photos of the better ones. The rough ones? I like to give them away to YN's or put them in circulation and make someone's day.
    Lance.
