Does anyone else showcase their coins?

My little area is in the lower level out of sight of most visitors. I throw a colored tarp on the cases and computer, open a step ladder and put a gallon of paint on it; if there is a possibility that a tradesman might have to walk through the area.. No one catches on. :>) For more realism, open the paint can for the smell. It only takes 2 minutes to set up and no more to put away.

My coins are just set on 3 crammed tables: one for notes, one for coins, and one for "coin stuff". Presentation is very poor for me

wow after taking a closer look I realized it is a print. The first time I looked at it I could have sworn it was an actual ferris wheel. As for the name of the seller, sure if you could provide me with his i.d it would be great thanks.

    Incredible setup! Well done!

I would love to take my display to the level you have, but as for now I simply have small wooden display cases that are easily swapped out of the safe.

I had two huge cases like you would find in a coin store. However we had a large flood and I almost lost it all in the rising waters. So now the cases are gone and the coins are away, very high and far away from water as possible. I even sold the house and moved to a much higher location. If I flood now, were all in a bunch of trouble.

First of all I would like to thank everyone for the kind remarks made in regards to my display. My son always asks me why I get so elaborate when no one ever see's it. Unfortunately by the nature of what we collect, you can't be to forward with information or show too many others the depth of what you own. It can raise concerns for it and your own safety. Because of this, I never keep my gold or better slabbed and raw coins at home. And as soon as another safe deposit box becomes available at my bank, (currently they are all leased out) the larger silver bullion pieces will be residing there as well.

I was asked what display I liked best, and it was one I put together in February of last year. It's theme was Territorial coins and currency of former and current US Possession's. I found one photo which had the showcase on the right set up with it. I have featured Commemorative's, issued and collected sets, civil war tokens and fractional currency, currency's from specific time frames, (1700's 1800's etc..) and The Columbian Exposition just to name a few. I have another photo of some of the Commemorative's and a separate shadow box I featured for the Columbian Exposition. I hope these will be to your liking as well. PS: Don't forget to post your efforts here besides!
