Could anybody tell me what the deal is with this 1979 Penny? I honestly don't think it's a piece of copper that was melted on to it. Also on the back, the "A" in STATES looks a little funny. Any knowledgeable input would be highly appreciated. Thanks
Welcome to the forum! It appears to be a cud. The die in that area broke away, and so there wasn't a die area to form the design, thus the "blob". Rather common. Jim
